I. International standards

    American standard:
ASME B16.34 covers general requirements for flanged, butt-welded and threaded valves, including pressure-temperature ratings, material requirements, dimensions and tolerances, and is an important basis for gate valve design.
API 600/ISO 10434: Specifically for the oil and gas industry bolted steel gate valves, specifies the design, manufacturing, material, inspection and other aspects of the detailed requirements of this type of gate valves, such as the valve body wall thickness, stem strength, sealing performance are clearly specified.
API 603: Suitable for 150lb corrosion resistant flange end casting gate valve, there are special requirements for the selection of corrosion resistant materials and manufacturing process.

    British standard:
BS 1414 is a standard for steel gate valves in the petroleum, petrochemical and refining industries, and provides relevant specifications for the application of gate valves in these specific industrial fields.

    Japanese industrial standard:
The section on gate valves in JIS standards, such as JIS B2011-1999 "Bronze Gate valves, globe valves, Angle valves and check valves", specifies the corresponding design and manufacturing requirements for gate valves of different materials and applications.

    German national standard:
DIN 3352 is the German gate valve standard, involving the structure, size, performance and other aspects of the gate valve requirements.

    2. Chinese standards
GB/T 12234: "Flange and butt welded steel gate valve", specifies the domestic flange and butt welded steel gate valve design, manufacturing, inspection and acceptance and other aspects of the technical requirements, including valve structure, dimensional tolerance, material selection, pressure test and other content.
JB/T 5298: "Steel Flat gate Valve for pipeline", applicable to the flat gate valve in oil, natural gas and other pipeline systems, the design, manufacture and inspection of the provisions.

    3. Relevant standards in other aspects

    Structural length standard:
ASME B16.10: Specifies the structural length of valves, including the length and size requirements for different types and specifications of gate valves, which are essential for valve installation and connection.
GB/T 12221-2005: China's structural length standard, in line with international standards, to ensure that domestic production of gate valves in terms of structural length in accordance with the general installation and connection specifications.

    Connection flange standard:
ASME B16.5: American standard for steel flanges and pipe fittings with flanges, commonly used in the design of gate valve and pipe connection flanges.
GB/T 9113: China's connection flange standard, specifies the size of the flange, pressure level, sealing surface form, etc., to ensure the connection compatibility of the gate valve and the pipeline system.

    Pressure temperature grade standard:
GB/T 12224-2005: Specifies the pressure-temperature rating of the valve to ensure that the gate valve can operate safely and reliably under different pressure and temperature conditions.
ASME B16.34 also includes requirements for pressure-temperature ratings, which, in conjunction with other standards, provide comprehensive guidance on pressure and temperature parameters for the design and use of gate valves.

    Test inspection standard:
API 598: The American Petroleum Institute's Valve inspection and test standard, which specifies various test methods and acceptance criteria for gate valves, such as pressure tests, seal tests, etc.
GB/T 26480: "Valve inspection and test", is China's valve inspection standard, covering the gate valve inspection items, test procedures, conformity assessment and other requirements to ensure that the quality and performance of the gate valve meet the design standards.
